Do you enjoy being in the great outdoors? Have you got practical skills and are interested in managing wildlife habitats? Would you like to learn more about your local history? Then come and join the Friends of Pishiobury Park!

The Friends started in autumn 2010 as a small group of volunteers who have been carrying out conservation and maintenance tasks in the park with the help of the Countryside Management Service, as well as running free events and activities. The tasks have so far included tree planting, installing benches and enlarging a spring fed pond. Our events and activities have ranged from a 24hr ‘Bioblitz’ , Wonderful Worms, bat evening walks, historical walks, dating the trees and meeting the animals in the park.

We have some funding, and plenty of ideas for the future, and would love to see more people getting involved in whatever way they can. Practical tasks are on the third Thursday of each month, 10:00 to 12:00, and on occasional Tuesdays in conjunction with the Countryside Management Service, 10:00-15:00 (For more details see our upcoming events).

We always need help with organising and running events, and are likely to need assistance with other projects, such as wildlife recording.
